Cast announced for this world premiere from Guildford-based Miranda and Top Gear writer

 

THREE WISE MEN is a brand new play, for Christmas – debuting in July. Why? Well Guildford Fringe Festival isn’t on in December.

 

This true tale of Charles Dickens, Prince Albert and Washington Irving concocting the modern Christmas is written by Guildford resident Paul Kerensa, who has also written for Miranda, Not Going Out, TFI Friday and Top Gear. His bestselling history book Hark! The Biography of Christmasis the inspiration for this new play. We can proudly announce its fantastic cast.

 

Alexander Perkins (Charles Dickens) appeared as series regular Ralph in every episode of BBC’s cult hit The Office, and recently won the British Independent Film Festival Award for Best Actor for Happy Birthday, Toby Simpson. 

Alexander also appeared in fourteen episodes of ITV’s Law & Order UK as S.O.C.O. Pete. Other television appearances include Call the Midwife, Jekyll & Hyde, The Bletchley Circle and Foyle’s War.

 

 

Jennifer Masters (Prince Albert) is a graduate of Guildford School of Acting, who hasactedalongside Ian McKellen and Simon Callow in the film Miss in Her Teens.

Jennifer’s theatre work includes White Bear Theatre’s Love’s Last Shift, of which The Guardian said: “The acting honours belong to Jennifer Masters.”

 

 

Bob Hartman (Washington Irving) is a legendary storyteller, entertaining audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for decades with his books and performances. Author of the acclaimed Lion Storyteller books, Bob has toured extensively, from Pittsburgh Children’s Museum to the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Bob specialises in retelling traditional folk tales, from the Bible to Aesop’s Fables. Perfect for revisiting Christmas… in summer.
