Elsie Diamond, international burlesque bombshell and singer presents this one-woman show, inspired by her day job: dresser to the stars in the unpredictable world of costume.
Set backstage in an opera house, this is a comical, sexy and heartfelt piece told through song, spoken word and striptease.
With her vintage looks, a voice from a bygone era and exquisite costumes, Elsie transports you effortlessly through different eras whilst maintaining her very modern sense of humour.
Having worked in television, opera and theatre herself, Elsie tells tales from her own and her friends’ careers – with some artistic license of course… These stories can’t possibly be true, can they?
“By day she dresses some of the biggest stars in the world. By night, she regales audiences with the unbelievable stories she picks up along the way. Elsie Diamond effortlessly blends storytelling, comedy and burlesque to create a sumptuous journey through the decades. Not one to be missed.” (READERS DIGEST)
“Elsie’s show was fantastic. The songs she showcased were so diverse and unique that she kept me captivated for the whole performance. With her witty anecdotes and charming nature I went from laughing to crying in moments. Thoroughly recommended!” (AUDIENCE MEMBER ALISON FOLLOWS, LONDON)
“50 minutes felt like 20. Gripping from the first fling to the finale, thanks to Elsie’s portrayal of an array of characters sewn together masterfully (like any good dresser would!) by the thread of a witty, honest and original narrative. From the humble to the spectacular, the show takes you full circle, covering a colour wheel of emotion: laughter, tease, Elsie’s unique brand of (often dirty) humour, empathy, repulsion, joy, tension and release!” (AUDIENCE MEMBER HARRIET RAY, LONDON)
Scunthorpe born Elsie moved to London at 19 to study Costume at Wimbledon School of Art before realising her interests were focused on stage rather than behind the scenes. After university Elsie went on to create interesting singing burlesque acts which meant she quickly burst on to the London cabaret scene performing at venues such as Proud Cabaret, Madame Jojo’s, Cafe de Paris and Wilton’s Music Hall. Now
having worked professionally in the industry for 5 years, she is lucky enough to work all over the country and internationally having performed in Dubai, Stockholm, Vienna, Bruges, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Nice.
