“Nana’s comedic styling evokes the warm-hearted but deadly-sharp observational style of Victoria Wood.” North West End

The time has come for Nana to get intimate. She’s sick of the stadium life and is now touring to smaller

scale venues so she can get up close and personal with her army of fans. She’s got a bee in her bonnet

and wants you to get on it. This is no teatime with your granny, this is An Evening With Nana Funk!

An hour-long cabaret, its creation supported by Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse New Works,

combines original songs and parodies, storytelling and improvised song generated from audience

discussion…with a bit of burlesque thrown in for good measure.

The audience are taken on a hilarious and emotional musical rollercoaster as Nana challenges ageism

and how aged/aging people are portrayed in society. From delicate ballads to 90’s dance, all the way

to full on ROCK, Nana gives her not so subtle opinions on what it means to be “age appropriate”.

Nana Funk is a musical theatre singer songwriter who shows that being awesome transcends age.

Show creator Angie Waller has been entertaining audiences as Nana Funk since 2013 and brings

together song, script, improvisation and clowning to create her own versatile and unique style.

The performance takes place at Fallen Angel, The Angel Hotel.
