The Death of Nancy was the last, and most dramatic, of the readings which Charles Dickens included in his repertoire of Public Readings that he gave in the latter part of his career.
Many believe the exertion of performing it contributed greatly to his early death. “Doctor Marigold” is perhaps the most poignant of his readings, guaranteed to pull at the heartstrings, and make even the strongest weep.
You can be assured of an emotional roller coaster, as the words and characters of Dickens are brought to life on the stage before your very eyes. Be warned!
